  • I worked with Bob for several years as a safety committee member for Kaiser Engineers, and later Fluor Federal Services. Bob always took his safety responsibilities seriously – and was one person who I could always depend on to complete his assigned actions. It was a pleasure to have Bob accept several safety-related recognition awards on behalf of the engineering/administrative employees of Kaiser and Fluor. In his capaccity as an architect, Bob designed the company brochure each new employee received that described the Voluntary Protection Program a DOE and national safety excellence recognition program. Without Bob’s help, our office safety program would not be as successful as it is today. I will miss Bob as a co-safety committee member, as a good person, and as a friend!

  • Bob has been married to my sister, Sandy for many years. I didn’t know him as well as I’d have liked as I live in Nebraska. I did enjoy getting to know him when I visited in Washington several times and he & Sandy came to Nebraska once. I always admired Bob’s art work and enjoyed being able to see the results of it in Sandy’s home. He did some wonderful work for the theater group Sandy worked with and I know Sandy and the theater group really appreciated his help through the years. He will be missed by many.

  • I am in such sorrow, as is everyone, over Bob’s loss!

    Oh, for only one last…. such a terrible, untimely loss after overcoming such hurdles…. words truly do fail…. how he will be missed…. how my heart aches for my dear friend, Sandy, his family and friends…. creativity and heart such as his were a form of spirituality…. I can just see him looking down on us in his so kind way and hear him say in his special way….

    Do not stand at my grave and weep;

    I am not there, I do not sleep.

    I am a thousand winds that blow;

    I am the diamond glints on snow.

    I am the sunlight on ripened grain;

    I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

    When you awaken in the morning’s hush,

    I am the swift uplifing rush,

    Of quiet birds in clrcled flight.

    I am the soft star that shines at night.

    Do not stand at my grave and cry.

    I am not there; I did not die.

  • Bob is one of the best friends I have had in my life. He is a great person to know and he will be with me for my whole life. He and I laugh alot and cry a little together. He helps me with just listening when I am raising my family. He is there when I need advice and friendship. He helps when I am making improvements to my house. He is a professional at work at Hanford. He is one of the best designers I have ever met in my 24 years of my career. He is an artist at work as well as at home. His drafting and design work are perfection and he does not allow himself to be mediocore. He is a perfectionist and a very experience and excellent designer. Everyone can tell he loves his work and is truly a professional and will never compromise his profession. Never compromising improves our profession. He is to be honored.

    He really loves being a natural man. He loves to have fun, fishing, camping, partying, friends, dancing, biking when or if he ever finishes rebuilding his Harley-Davidson.

    Bob’s passion is being a great artist. He loves painting and I always think his art work is great. He always takes a long time to do his paintings but he is a perfectionist and I believe he feels the emotion first before he paints his emotion on canvas. He can draw anything to perfection but adds his deepest emotion and thoughts to his artwork. Everything he tries and accomplishs is his best effort. I have always admired and have learned to believe the same is true in my life, never compomising my beliefs. Honor to myself is honor to my family – past and present. I am truly a better person for knowing Bob. He has taught me to have fun and laugh no matter how bad things can and will get. Be a professional and do the best I can in whatever I do and attempt.

    Bob and I talk alot together about our families. When Bob and I met I was just married and I was there when Bob met Sandy and married. We talk alot privately about being step-parents and raising children, loving our wives, things we care about art, politics, homes, work or whatever. We can talk about any subject to the point of a fist fight almost and we both always respect each other. That is what created and continues a friendship.

    Since I left Hanford I think about Bob and tell people our experiences working together. Even though I left Richland, Washington nearly 12 years ago, everytime I think of living there I think of Bob and Sandy and how they are.

    Bob really made a life long impression on my personal life. Bob is very strong in his work ethic, professionalism and personal leisure. He has taught me not to take everything so serious — money is not that important, life is more important.

    He may not have a lot but I feel he is comfortable about himself and he has self-respect and dignity. Bob is one of those people who you meet that you can agree or disagree with but you have to respect because he lives his life the way he wants to. He plays hard, works hard, keeps his beliefs and does not compromise what he believes and is true to himself and the way he wants to live, good or bad.

    I will always be Bob’s friend and always remember what he did for me personally. Bob is a best friend. The only thing I regret is losing track of him years ago. I just found out a few weeks ago he was in a very bad fire and badly burnt and I wasn’t there for him.

    Now Bob has passed away without me being there for him or Sandy. All I can do presently is remember my friend and hope I can honor my friend’s memory.

    God be with you Bob. I love you, God Bless.

    Take care, have peace friend.

    Bob, my friend, I love you!

  • Jerrod and I send our deepest sympathies. I’ve known Bob for many years, since he married my sister Sandy. We didn’t spend a lot of time togethr, but I had many enjoyable talks with him and always enjoyed and admired his art. I will really miss him and I know Sandy will too. May Bob find eternal peace with Jesus Christ our lord. Sandy, may God be with you today and the rest of your days. May God bless you and keep you.
