E. Lucille Hayward, 87, of Richland, WA, died Monday, January 28, 2002, at home.
Lucille was born to George and Florence Dick in Mount Rainier, Maryland in 1915. She and her twin brother were so tiny they were placed in shoe boxes under the wood stove to be kept warm. She grew up in Illinois until the depression separated the family to be reunited in Denver in 1934.
Her 65-year marriage to Ron began in Denver in 1936. They lived in Colorado and Nevada mining towns until the War brought the family to Richland in 1944. Her favorite travels were to Hawaii.
Lucille was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Hayward; sons, Wes Hayward of Beaverton, OR and Dennis Hayward of Vancouver, WA; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna Lu 1938; a brother, George Dick 1992, and her twin brother, Lloyd January 24, 2002.
Cryptside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2002, in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be at EinanÂ’s Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
