  • Janet,

Losing someone you love can be the saddest part of life. Sometimes nothing anyone says or does can make it any better but I want to let you know that I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Russ was a special person to all of us at Columbia Basin Hematology & Oncology and we will miss him.

  • Dear Janet,

I can’t begin to say how sorry I am that Russ is gone. I always enjoyed talking with him and you in the dental office during your cleanings. We never ran out of things to chat about and it just made me feel good each time I saw him. He and you have been in my thoughts so many times since I heard of his illness. The right words to say are hard to find right now. Russ was truly a bright light that will never go out in our hearts.

    Sincerely,

    Cindy from Dr.Barton/Williams office

You may not remember me, but Russ was my traveling partner to Russia in the late 1990″s. He was great to work and travel with and I always enjoyed his company. I always had a great amount of respect for hisknowledge and expertise and could not have done my job without him. I have also always considered Russ to be my friend and I will miss him. Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences and if there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask. He was a good man and we will see him again! May you, your son and daughter, and the rest of your family find comfort and solace knowing that you were always foremost in his thoughts.

  • Russ was a friend of mine at PNNL. He will be missed by many. He was a very kind hearted person that was always willing to help wherever and whenever he could. I remember when he first told me that he had cancer. I told him that my dad had cancer at the age of 33 and passed away at 35. I told him about how advanced Science is now and I’m sure he would be able to fight it and win. He told me that he was going to give it his best shot. Until we meet again. God bless. Doreen

  • Janet,

My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. Not sure if you remember me, but I worked at Battelle from 89-95 and we went to several functions together. Russ was a great person, someone you could talk to easily, and will be missed. Just as an FYI, I’m now into biking, and will be riding this summer in an event called the Pan-Mass Challenge in Boston MA. PMC is a fundraising event to benefit the Jimmy Fund of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. It is a 200 mile ride with thousands of participants and the single largest weekend fundraising event in the country for Cancer research. I will be thinking of Russ and your family while I ride and gather my donations.

    Best wishes

  • Russ was such a good friend to us! We have so many memories to cherish. We especially enjoyed our trip to Matzaland and watching Russ bargin with those mexicans on everything we bought. He was so good at it! Russ alwasys gave 100 % of everything he did, weather it was trying to ride the air chair a hundred times, determined to get up on the darn thing or just being there whenever he was needed. We will truly miss him!!
