He was born in Kennewick on December 7, 1923, to Sam and Elsie Weiggands. Glenn lived in Kennewick until moving to Richland in 1947.

Glenn was very proud of his family and his service to his country in the U. S. Navy and the nation’s nuclear industry. He joined the Navy shortly after turning 18 and served in a minesweeper in the Pacific during World War II 1942-1946. He married the former Helen Irene O’Leary on November 27, 1947. He enjoyed his family and reading, and was well known as a World War II buff.

He retired after working 40 years at Hanford, first as a fireman, and then as a nuclear process operator. He was proud to be a member of Local Chemical Workers Union 369 and made many friends during the early Hanford operation years. Glenn was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Glenn is survived by his large, loving family and wife, Helen, daughter, Christy and husband, Mike Conway, of Juneau, Alaska, Glenna and husband, Alan Dujenski, of Seattle, Suzie and Scott Stevens of Huntsville, Alabama; and sons, Mike Weiggands of Yorktown, Virginia and John Weiggands of Seattle; and his sister, Leona Snook of Kennewick. He also is survived by six granddaughters, five grandsons, and four great grandchildren.
