Samuel Harold Emshousen

Samuel Harold Emshousen, 69, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at the Life Care Center of Kennewick with his nephews, William H. and James M. McDonald and his sisters, Rayetta Taylor and Jana McDonald at his bedside.

Sam was born July 24, 1932, in East Saint Louis, Illinois and moved to the Pacific Northwest with his parents in 1947. He attended Richland High School and served his term in the U. S. Army at Camp Hanford. After his time in the Army, he worked in the construction industry until his retirement in 1978. He was a project manager for heavy equipment companies throughout the United States, but through all his travels at work and vacationing at his property in Blanchard, Idaho, the Tri-Cities have remained his permanent address.

Sam is survived by his mother, Irene W. Emshousen, Kennewick; sister, Rayetta Taylor, Kennewick; sister, Jana McDonald, Benton City; three nephews, Michael R. McDonald, William H. McDonald and James M. McDonald; and two nieces, Donna Rae Taylor and Zora E. Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond A. Emshousen and by his brother, C. W. Emshousen.

At Sam’s request, there will be no services.  Donations may be sent to the charities of your choice.
