  • the word “great” has more of a meaning then just the fact that he was my great uncle.

i only had the privelage of meeting him 2 times, once when i was rather small, and once last summer. he came to michigan to visit all of us.

i am rather shy and kinda observed and kept quiet. he joked and tried his best to get me warmed up. i noticed he was very much like my grandpa who is his younger brother. he had this warm loving and fun approach to life and wanted all to know things as they were. i heard my parents talking about a trip to henry ford museum with him and seeing the locomotives he insisted he had to show them the parts he worked on. he was rather fiesty about it. i wish i could have spent the day with them there and i wish i could have spent more time with him and got to know hime better. he was a wonderful person. all my love and prayers to the rest of the family.

    much love nikki
