Goodbye Uncle Norbert,
You are probably in heaven in the midst of a celebration with Irene, Marcella, my father Ed Smithlin, his brother and sister Russell Smithlin and Irene Browning, and my sister Maureen. May God grant each of you and those who proceeded you eternal peace and happiness. Where you are, we will all end up. Hail Mary …

We want to give our deepest sympathy for the family of our friend, Norbert. We certainly enjoyed having him come to our services for Riverview Baptist Church, his singing and his tender spirit. What a blessing he was. We are so sad for your loss. Please keep in touch.
From Pastor and Mrs. Paisley and all of our folks who visited him at Callaway Gardens.
We enjoyed Uncle Dub’s his sisters’ nickname for him visits to the farm. He enjoyed working in the gardens and we always loved the peaches he brought back. He was a very special person.
I was sorry to hear about Uncle Dub’s passing. He was a sweet, gentle man. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Dub hada great sense of humor. I remember Dub coming to visit in Valley City on several occasions. On one visit he had brought his Fortune 500 magazine. On the cover were listed the 500 richest men in the U.S. and I remmber him boasting how his name was on the front. I looked and looked for his name but couldn’t find it. He then pointed to the postal label and said, “See, there it is.” Again, my condolences.
Heiling Family:
May the Lord keep you and bless you in the days and weeks to come.

Goodbye to a sweet gentle man. Margo, my dear childhood friend, I am thinking about you.
I very much enjoyed hearing Norbert sing! While visiting my
own dad, Joe at Callaway Gardens, Norbert always had a wonderful
smile and a song to sing. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your
family.
