OREL WORKMAN DILLING died 8/26/02, at the age of 85. She was born in Whitman County, grew up in the Denison area, and attended Riverside High and worked her way through college at EWSC. Orel moved to Connell to teach first and second grade. She met and married Oliver Dilling and moved to his farm on Dilling Road. They had three children, Lois, Laura and Jim.

Orel was a cheerful teacher and homemaker. She loved helping and inspiring others. In 1957 she was recognized in Who's Who in America for her volunteer work with women, on the district level of the Lutheran church and in community organizations. She and Oliver were also active in Flying Farmers of America, Farm Bureau and local politics.

Orel was preceded in death by her dear husband, Oliver, in 1994. Survivors are Lois Rosenbladt of Portland, OR, Terry and Laura Collier of Connell, and Jim and Ella Dilling of Juliaetta, ID. Grandchildren are Ted Rosenbladt and Erin Rosenbladt, Bryan Collier and wife Brenda, Tonya Collier, Cari Dilling, and Torrey Dilling and wife Mollee. Great grandchildren are Nathan and Carissa Durham; Quentin, Casey and Victoria Zeimantz; and Ellisa and Jacob Dilling.

Orel's life will be celebrated at a memorial service at Gideon Lutheran Church in Connell,WA on September 6th at 11 :00 a.m.
