Bruce H. Glenn, Sr., 83 of Richland passed away September 14, 2002 at Quail Hollow Memory Care facility in Richland surrounded by his family. Bruce was born December 3, 1919 to Athol and Robert Glenn in Fargo, Oklahoma Ellis County.

Bruce grew up in Fargo, graduated from Fargo High School, attended Oklahoma A & M University and also classes at C.B.C. He drove the school bus his four years of high school and excelled in sports. Later, he played semi pro baseball throughout Oklahoma, Kansas and California.

For 4 years, Bruce served in the European theater in the U.S. Army.

Bruce worked for the Laughlin and Wolf Creek Drilling Company in Oklahoma and Kansas.

In 1951, Bruce came to Richland to work for General Electric Co. While there Bruce was given an unprecedented $1,500 suggestion award. Bruce retired in December 1981.

He is a member of the Richland Baptist Church. He coached and umpired Little League, church basketball and worked with the Boy Scouts. He also was a member of the Scottish Rites, Richland Masonic Lodge #183 and Prairie Shuffler Square Dance Club.

Bruce married Clarice Ager in 1954. They enjoyed traveling, fishing and spent 15 years square dancing and playing ball while wintering in Arizona.

He is survived by wife Clarice of Richland; son Bruce H. Glenn, Jr. and wife Kim;grandchildren Chris, Brandon, Heather and fiancé Sommok; daughter Dawn M. Glenn of Novato, CA; sister Geraldine Biege of Waco, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his mother Athol Chalmers, father Robert Glenn, stepfather Ernest Chalmers, brothers John, Robert E. and Arlo Glenn.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Quail Hollow and Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House for their loving care of Bruce and their wonderful support of Clarice and family.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM on Tuesday September 17, 2002 at Einan’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens on September 18, 2002 and a Memorial Service at 2:30 PM at Richland Baptist Church, 1639 George Washington Way, Richland, WA.
