DORIS L. OSBORNE

Doris L. Osborne, age 87, of Richland, WA, passed away at Hospice House, Kennewick, on November 15, 2002.

She was born on June 12, 1915, in Denver, Colorado, to Mathew and Ida Reuter. Doris and Leonard Len Osborne were married on September 30, 1934, in Arvada, Colorado. They moved to Richland in March of 1944. She was a member of Christ the King Church, Alter Society, and Young Ladies Institute. Doris was very active with her family and church and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was the sacristant at Christ the King Church for approximately 50 years.

Doris is survived by family members, which include: son, Gene Osborne and wife Elsa of Richland and grandsons Leonard and Gregg Osborne; son, Jon and wife Jan of Kennewick and granddaughter Dana Osborne; daughter, Joan Workman and husband Jim of Richland and grandchildren Robert, Tom, Lori Workman, and Donna Austin-Workman; and daughter Jan Jacobus and husband Richard and grandchildren Mark Jacobus and Julie Raykovich. She was also survived by 11 great- grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and her husband of 62 years Leonard Osborne, and sons, James W. and Leonard J. Osborne.

A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:00 pm at Einan's Funeral Home, Richland. The Christian Burial Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 20, at 11:00 am at Christ the King Church, Richland. Private family graveside services will be held later.

Doris was a wonderful mother and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family and all others who knew her.

  • I’m sorry for your loss, she sounds like a very devout Catholic and now I am sure she is with her Jesus and all the saints and angels,it don’t get any better than that. She is now in peace forever:. Thank you so much for coming to Alterra to tell Margaret Peterson about Doris,her room mate at Alterra, she was very pleased for her daughter to take the time to do that for her. I always remember Margaret saying, “I am sure going to miss Doris and her big family there was always someone there visiting young and older.” Love and prayers for all of you, God bless Kathi and Lis from Alterra.
