A. Lucille Wright

Lucille Wright died peacefully at Guardian Angel Homes in Richland, Washington on February 4, 2003.
She was born on February 13, 1907 in Sioux City, Iowa to Edward and Catherine O'Boyle Barrett. She was the oldest of their three children. The family moved to N. Idaho where her father died when she was four. She grew up in small timber and railroad towns of N. Idaho and NE. Washington such as Athol, Spirit Lake, Usk, Ruby, Tiger, Blueslide, and many more. She helped raise her youngest sister who was born after her mother remarried. Following graduation from high school in Eugene, the family moved to Medford, Oregon, where she lived for over 65 years. From an early age she worked to help support her family. She married Robert C. Wright in 1939. She continued to work in retail stores and with her husband in their dry cleaning business. They were happily married until his death in 1982. She moved to Richland in 1992. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, reading, bridge, and traveling, but most of all she loved children. She was a strong, smart, generous woman with many friends. Everything she did she did well. She was a devout Catholic all of her life. Her sister, Charlotte, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother Joe Barrett of Richland; sister Kathleen Sander of Bend, OR; sons Gregory of Stockton, CA and Larry and wife Gale of Prosser; granddaughters Elaine of Seattle, and Diane and Andrea of Prosser; nephew Terry Sander and wife Denise of Bend; and great nephews Richard and wife Kara and Sean Sander of Bend.
The family sincerely thanks the staff at Alterra Wynwood and Guardian Angel Homes for their devoted care and friendship.
The memorial service will be at Einan's Funeral Home at 2:30 on Saturday, February 8, 2003.
Memorials can be sent to the Christ the King Catholic Church Visitation Ministry, 1126 Long Ave., Richland, WA 99352.
