LAURA MOORE JARRARD
Richland, Wash.
Laura Moore Jarrard, 87, was born to Alfred T. and Ada Adkins Flanagan on February 19, 1916, in Springfield, MO. and died February 22, 2003 in Richland, W A.
Laura grew up in Springfield, MO. with one brother and six sisters, one of whom, Lora, was her identical twin. As a twin, Laura used to tell of pranks she and her twin would play by trading places at school and with boyfriends. Laura worked for years at Sears Roebuck in Pasco while her twin Lora worked at J C Penny in Richland. It was confusing to people in the community who would go from one store to the other and see each of them during a single shopping trip. They were truly identical to all except their families.
She married Leland W. Moore on August 26, 1937, and moved to Richland in 1944. Leland passed away on September 10, 1976. Laura married Ernest W. Bill Jarrard on December 27, 1979.
Laura was a secretary at HHFA in Richland, she also worked as a manager for Sears in Pasco and worked at Hughes Clothing in Richland. She later worked for Dunning-Ray Insurance and State Farm Insurance companies in Richland and then worked at W.P.P.S.S. until she retired in 1981.
Laura was a member of the Richland Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, hockey games, boating, and family gatherings.
Laura is survived by her husband of 23 years, Ernest W. Bill Jarrard, sons, Thomas L. Moore and wife CarolofIrrigon, OR, David L. Moore and wife Barbara, Robert W. Moore and wife Judy, all of Rich land, and her sister, Wilma Stewart Wasson of Silverdale, W A. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Laura was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alfred and Ada Flanagan, brother Harry Flanagan, and sisters, Zelma Painter, Ava St. Clair, Erma Scroggins, Evelyn Putman, Lora Williams Adair and first husband, Leland W. Moore.
Laura's greatest pleasure was in the love and joy she shared with her family. She will be missed but will always be remembered in our hearts.
