Harriet A. Harrison, at the age of 78, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Sunday, July 20, 2003 in Richland, WA. She was born on June 30, 1925 to Helen & Roy Auster in Westfield, NJ. She graduated from Westfield High School.

She lived in Kettering, Ohio before moving to Toms River, NJ in 1964, and spent the last 3 years of her life in Richland, WA. She worked for Dover Township in NJ as Tax Collector, retiring after 26 years in 1994. A member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, NJ for many years, she served faithfully as an Elder and Deacon.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Lewis Harrison; and two sisters, Shirley and Marjorie.

Surviving are a son, James Lewis Harrison, Jr., Lakewood, NJ; two daughters, Anne Babcock Hufnagel, Secretary, MD and Sandra Lynn Crane of Richland, WA; 3 sisters-in-law, Jean Schill of Rutland, Vermont; Virginia Cranch of Amherst, NH; and Anne Flanagan of Mesa, AZ and eight grandchildren.

Harriet was a gift from God serving as a wonderful example of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The Lord used Harriet to touch the lives of many through her servant's heart and fun-loving ways expressing her love for Him and others. She was hard working and persevered through difficult times with an unselfish and considerate attitude maintaining a light-hearted sense of humor.

A special thanks from the family is extended to all of her Caregivers and the staff of Quail Hollow Memory Care Community. There will be a Memorial service on Thursday, July 24th, at Bethel Church in Richland, WA at 2:00 PM.
