JON KIMBERLY YERXA

Jon “Kim” Yerxa of Kennewick, 52, passed away July 3, 2003, in Kennewick, WA after a valiant, three year battle with cancer. He was born on March 20, 1951, to John and Joan Curry Yerxa. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1969. He then enrolled at Eastern Washington University where he earned a BA in 1974 and went on to earn a Masters degree in 1978.

Kim was Adams County Auditor for 9 years and for the last 11 years worked for the Department of Energy in Richland.

Anyone who was acquainted with Kim knew that his greatest source of joy and pride was his family. He married Kathy Hoffman in 1976, and had two children, Megan and Patrick.

Kim is survived by his daughter Megan Yerxa of Ritzville, his son Patrick Yerxa of Ritzville, his mother Joan Yerxa of East Wenatchee, his brother Riley Yerxa of Auburn, his sisters Cheri Yerxa Barr of East Wenatchee and Tracey Yerxa Graf of Washougal, WA. Kim was a very kind person who would do anything he could to help someone out. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him, especially his family.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at the Kennewick First United Methodist Church 421 West Kennewick Avenue on July 10,2003, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on July 8th and 9th at Einan’s Funeral Home, 915 By-Pass Highway, Richland, WA.
