Bev passed away on August 6, 2003 at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Bev was born on January 13, 1929 in Hayward, California. She graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland, California in 1947.

She was a passionate gardener, classical music lover, and seeker of knowledge. Together with her husband Dean, she developed an acre of garden beds and trees which has become an island of shade and peace in the middle of the high desert near Benton City.

Bev was an active member of Master Gardeners in the Tri-City area for 20 years. She loved to teach and share her knowledge. She taught education programs for students in K-8 and lectured to evening adult classes. She was the coordinator for the flower competition in the Benton City Fair for 7 years. Her gardens were always open for walk throughs for senior citizens, school classes and individuals.

Bev is survived by her husband, Dean B. Mill, and her four sons: Michael Blasingame and wife Sandy of Rodeo, California; Guy Blasingame and wife Kristi of Antioch,California; Thomas Blasingame and wife Nancye of Antioch, California; and Chris Mill and wife Shaila of Sterling, Virginia. She was blessed with six grand children and two great grand children.

A memorial service will be held at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland, on August 31, 2003 at 3:00 PM.

Gifts of potted perennials 5'' pots or less will be appreciated. These will be planted after the service in her memory.
