Richard E. Walker
Richard E. Walker, 76, of Richland, passed away on October 18, 2003 at Kadlec Medical Center. He was born on April 18, 1927 in Hutchinson, KS to Charles M. and Ora Walker. Richard graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1945.
He met his wife Nona Deckard in Larned, KS and they married in 1953. They moved to Oregon in 1955 and later moved to Richland in 1967. He was a meat cutter for Chucks Meats and retired in 1989. Richard volunteered for the Meals on Wheels for 4 years and the Richland Police Department for 3 years.
Richard enjoyed being with his family and he especially enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nona M. Walker, sons Mike and wife Dee Walker, and Steve and wife ZoeAnne Walker, sisters Joyce Bergkamp and husband Don, Arlene Estes, Darlene Miller and husband Curt, and Pat Pryor and husband John, and his brother Bill Walker and wife Betty. He is also survived by a grandson Kyle M. Walker, 3 step-granddaughters, Frances, Deva and Jennifer, 2 step-grandsons Casey and Chris and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his brother Don.
A Vigil will be held on Wednesday October 22 at 7:00pm at Einans Funeral Home. A graveside service will be on Thursday October 23 at 2:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 557 Roy Street Lowers Level, Seattle, WA 98109-4219 or a charity of your choice.
Dick;we didn’t get to fish in the new boat as planned.I”m sorry;you had more pressing business.Don’t catch all the big ones;I’ll be along someday and we’ll give it another go.RIP old friend.
Dick was a good friend for the past 45 yrs. Our mutual love of the meat business was a special bond. We’ll miss him & hope to get that fishing trip one day. Our prayers are with you, Nona,Steve & Mike.

Even though we are unable to be there physically, please know you and the boys are in our thoughts and prayers. Uncle Dick will be missed so very much. I wish our son, Harrison, would have had the chance to get to know him. I think he has some of Uncle Dicks orneryness in him. Take Good Care and God Bless!!
