From Kennewick, WA, US | Born in Vancouver, Washington
Cherie L. Moll
On January twenty-first, surrounded by her husband, children, and the love of her friends and students, Cherie L. Moll, 54, of Kennewick, Washington passed peacefully away at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.
Cherie was born in Vancouver, Washington in 1949 and in 1973 married her husband Gene, moving to the Tri-Cities two years later.
They bought the farm in Finley and lived there for the next 28 years. Cheries love of animals and empathy for strays ensured that the farm was always bustling with activity. Her love of the farm made it a central gathering place for her large family and even larger group of friends.
She found her professional calling as a Montessori Preschool Teacher. Her passion was teaching young children. She said that she enjoyed teaching preschool as these were their most formative years. The children were drawn to her down to earth, free spirit. Of her 26 years teaching, the past 15 have been at St. Josephs, Kennewick, where the family is parishioners.
Cherie was passionate about saving the environment and endangered animals. In her mind, these are the beacons warning society to change. She was a member of many environmental societies, a Congregation St. Joseph CSJ associate, meeting and praying with the Sisters of St. Joseph, and her hobby was gardening.
She is survived by her Husband, Gene, and six Children: Edward Moll, Stepheny Smith Scott Smith, Gene Edward Moll Jr., Kevin Moll Nancy Milliken, Michelle Moll, and Alicia Moll, sixteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her mother and three brothers; Michael Dedmore, Patrick Dedmore, and John McLaughlin.
Services for Cherie are as follows all at St. Josephs Parish, 520 S. Garfield, Kennewick: Rosary Friday at 7:00pm, Memorial Mass Saturday at 4:00pm, with a Wake to follow at 6:00pm in the Parish Activity Center. The wake is to be a celebration of her life.
Flowers and donations may be sent to St. Josephs Parish, Kennewick, Washington.
She was an incredible person, who touched many lives. We were truly blessed to be her family and wish to thank everyone for their prayers, gifts, and friendship.
I grew up with Cherie in the same neighborhood. Since we spent about 12yrs together I have many fond memories. One that is most outstanding is one summer at Cherie’s direction we produced and patricipated in a little outdoor skit. She had myself Diane Barone and Carol Weber on our hands and knees acting like cats singing and swaying to a song/music of which I do not know title it was a record that Cherie had but it went We are Siamese if you please, We are Siamese if you don’t please etc. well you can imagine! That year my mother had a birthday party for me and Cherie’s production in full was presented to all the neighborhood kids. Thanks for the memories Cherie
I want tosat I will miss her,and that I love her. And I will have her in my heart for ever. And I will pray for her family, And Iwant them to be happy and have her in there hearts.
My family sends our deepenst condolences to your family. Teacher Cherie was a large part of my daughter’s life for 2 years in preschool. Cherie was a light in these children’s lives. May her spirit continue to live on in everyone’s life she has touched.
My sister, jonnie, and I lived next door to the Dedmores during the 1950s-60s in the Ellsworth area. We all played together and grew up together. I remember a scarey halloween party at Cheries house where the lights were turned off and things were passed around somebody read a halloween story,I think it was about 1958 or so? It sure scared me! Then the time Cherie and my sister hooked up two cans with string between their respective bedroom windows and Cherie pulled to hard and broke our window! Pre- cell phone days.We have many fond memories of Cherie and the family. Please know that we are thinking of all her family at this time. Our prayer is that the love of Christ surround all your family and give peace beyond understanding.
My condolences go out to Cherie’s family. My daughter was one of Cherie’s preschoolers and I was also priveleged to be a coworker with Cherie. I will miss her coming into the office to tell one of her stories. She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. I feel very grateful to have known Cherie. My prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends.
Cherie and I had lots of fun together as kids. Climbing over the rock wall to see each other, playing baseball, and playing dolls. After so many years I called Cherie and we talked for the first time in 29 years. She was a special friend and I will always remember her and cherish all the good memories we had.
To the Moll Family,
Our sincere condolence and may the Lord God bless you all. We will include you in our daily prayers.

Teacher Cherie had a huge impact on my daughter, Michaela last year. I am greatful that I got the chance to know her, and be her ‘Library Mom’ and ‘Room Mom’ last year. She was truly a ray of light and will be missed. Our prayers go out to her family. She was a special lady.

Mrs. Moll, as I knew her, was my beloved pre-school teacher when I was four-years-old. I was in her class at St. Joes during the 1993-1994 school year and am blessed to have been. My brother, Adam, was also in her class, and my parents actually kept him there for an extra year because he was learning so much. She loved me and my family and we loved her back; in fact, we kept in touch for many years afterwards when I attended St. Joes. Right now I am a freshman at Tri-Cities Prep, and I want to make sure that you, her family, know that we have you in our deepest and most heartfelt prayers. Mrs. Moll was both an incredible teacher and person who touched countless people. I know she will be exceptionally missed.
I am very honored to sing in the choir at her memorial mass on Monday. Thank you for sharing her with me and all of the other countless people she touched.
