On Jan 1, 2004 Joan Hopkins left her life here on earth to be with her heavenly
family.
Joan was born May 31,1938 in Nebraska to Louie and Thelma Baker Curtis. The oldest of three children. Joan moved with her parents to Emmett, ID where she attended school. One of here High school highlights was being a member of the Emmett H.S Marching band. While watching a parade with a friend one day, she spotted the future love of her life. She married George Melvin Hopkins on Aug 20,1953 in Emmett ID.
Joan and George with their family moved to Mesa, WA in 1967, They moved to Mattawa in 1977 where they resided until George's death 1989. Joan was residing in Dayton, WA with her youngest son.
Joan enjoyed people, which was reflected in some of the jobs and hobbies she enjoyed during her life. She worked for Lamb Weston in Connell, WA, The Way Ward Winds Restaurant in Mattawa WA as a cook. She also owned her own fabric shop in Mattawa. Joan was an EMT for Grant Co. Fire Dist #8.
She enjoyed bowling, bingo, sewing, spending time with her family camping
and feeding them holiday meals.
Joan loved the Lord and was a faithfully attended Church in whatever community she lived in. In Dayton she attended the Community Bible Church. Joan was a Member of the Dayton Eagles Auxiliary.
Joan is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law Lonny & Ellen Hopkins; Victor & Patty Hopkins of Mattawa, WA; Bill & Kathy Hopkins of Dayton, WA. & Her daughter & son-in-law Christy & Kenny Munroe of Colville, WA.
She was also survived by her sister Audrey and Jim Rhoton of Emmett, ID and brother Eldon & Mary Curtis of Yakima, WA . The joy of her life was her 9 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter, and the resent addition of her 7 great grandchildren.
Joan's Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6th 2004 at Einan's Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Viewing will be held on Monday 5:00-8:00 PM & Tuesday 8:30AM
12:30 PM.

She was always so well liked & loved here in Dayton. She will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial for her on Mon., Jan. 12, 2004 at the Eagles Lodge @ 2pm.
