In loving memory of Howard Roth 1918-2004
God, thank you for the wonderful life I have lived. Born in Waterville, Washington on January 3rd, 1918, living on Badger Mountain cattle ranch then moving to Wenatchee, playing football for the Panthers, where in my late teens, I dined and danced at Polisons Cafe! In 1939, I played football for Linfield College, graduating with a degree in Physical Education. I had a chance to play pro football but served my country in WWII in the Army. I moved back to Wenatchee, where I met my lifes true love, Margie what a marvelous 57 years! I moved to Omak in 1949, coaching several different sports including football, basketball and track. In 1963, I moved to Kennewick where I coached at Kennewick High School until I retired.
I was blessed to have two sons, Howard Roth, Jr. and Jacob L. Roth and my daughter by marriage Laura Giacci Roth, then my grandchildren, Leslie and Nikki what a delight! I cherished every year forever God, thank you for an opportunity to share my life as an educator and coach, that truly helped me overcome lifes hurdles from the fine kids who supported me and my family! The win/lose record was not as important as the memories created by the games and events of lifetime friendships.
Howard joined Margie in eternal life on February 11, 2004.
The Roth family invites all to share this special time in celebration of Howards life and attend his memorial on Saturday, February 21, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Einans Funeral Home, 915 By-Pass Highway, Richland.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W. Entiat Ave. Kennewick, WA 99336 or Childrens Orthopedic Hospital, 4800 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98102.
What a great neighbor! A man’s man with compansion and kindness rare among men. We’ll miss him.

Howard gave me my first coaching job in 1971. It started a 30 year career in coaching and teaching. I knew so very little at the time but he gave me a chance. For that I am ever thankful.
He will be missed!
