Vida Alta Gaskill Hiebert passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Kennewick and entered into eternal rest on February 29, 2004. She was born December 17, 1919 in Anatone, Washington to Bert and Ethel Oliver. She went to high school in North Powder, Oregon and was married to Arthur Gaskill from 1938 until his death in 1957. She spent her younger years cooking for a bunch of ranch hands at the Wilson Ranch in Anatone and raising 4 children.

In 1961, she married her dancing partner and the love of her life, Isaac Hiebert. They lived in Walla Walla and she worked at the M&R Drug Store until she retired in 1979 and then they moved to Finley, Washington, to be near her daughters.

Husbands Arthur Gaskill and Isaac Hiebert, mother and father Bert and Ethel Oliver, brothers Leonard and Orville Oliver, sister Irene Gaskill and son Vernon Gaskill precede her in death.

She is survived by her sisters Violet Behrens from Vancouver, Washington and Ina Morrison of Roseburg, Oregon, daughters Betty D. Reed, Gertrude Stacy and son-in-law Tom, Faye Stanley and son-in-law Woody all from Finley, grandchildren Larry Stacy and wife Paula, Dianna Beeler and husband Nic, Laura Ealy, Debra Buechler and husband Ken, Leslie Trumble and husband Gary, Scott Stanley, Brad Stanley and wife Marie, great-grandchildren Nichole, Josh, Travis, Wyatt, Shelby, Courtney, Tyson, Haley and Kelton, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Mom, we will always remember your pretty blue eyes and wonderful smile. Rest in peace.

Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland on Wednesday March 3, 2004 at 11:00am.
