  • I worked with John at Burns & Roe in about 1977 during construction of Columbia Generating Station. I still have a book he gave me when he retired. John always asked me to pick up some beer cans for his collection whenever I traveled. He always had some interesting stories about going to “CanVentions”. John was a very nice person and was helpful to me in starting my career. I always enjoyed his sense of humor.

  • I met John through Junior Achievement. John was interested in making this world a better place and found the programs of Junior Achievement to be a good place to invest his efforts. He guided our local program to set up an endowment fund and encouraged individuals to contribute to JA through his innovative matching program. He provided considerable insight and guidance to those of us who work with the program.

Behind his gruff exterior, John was very warm hearted and he enjoyed a good joke. I will miss his guidance and communications.
