Lina “Jean” Wingfield, 81, took her last breath on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Kadlec Medical Center. Born Lina Jean Pollard, she grew up on a farm near Newport, Indiana. After nurses’ training she came to Washington during WWII, worked briefly in the Tacoma Shipyards. She came to Richland 60 years ago and started her career as a Registered Nurse. Jean worked at Kadlec Methodist Hospital, in “First Aide”, until 1965. Then she transferred to Hanford Environmental Health Foundation until retiring in 1985. Her greatest accomplishments were whenever she could help another human being.

Raised in the Friends Quaker Church, she developed a deep faith in God. She loved God, loved her family and her country.

She is survived by her husband, Royce, of 57 years: two sons; John and his wife, Jane of Olympia and James and his wife, Cindy of West Richland; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Lianna, Connor, Trisha, Jennifer and Courtney and two great grandchildren, Zach and Cassie.

Memorial Service will be at Einan’s Funeral Home, Saturday, April 3rd at 2:00 PM.
