From Richland, WA, US | Born in Pueblo, Colorado
Loretta Loraine Litz
Loretta Loraine Litz born June 15, 1925, youngest of 2 children to Anna Lee Drum and John Andrew Barnes, in Pueblo, Colorado; went to be with her heavenly family on March 22, 2004. She grew up in Florence, Colorado and married Harold B. Litz of Canon City, Colorado in Taos, New Mexico, July 2, 1946.
She spent many years of her life caring for her husband and their four children. They did a lot of traveling in those days. She lived in or visited nearly all of the United States including Alaska and Hawaii; plus was in Mexico, Canada, Viet Nam and lived in Thailand. Finally, in 1979 she moved to Richland, Washington and purchased a home.
She rarely worked outside of the home but was proud of the year she spent working as an assistant quality control field engineer for Bechtel on the Trans Alaska Pipeline from July 1976 to July 1977.
She wanted to stay informed so after years of being out of school she began attending classes at Columbia Basin College in Richland. She enjoyed reading and keeping up with what was going on in the world.
She enjoyed time with family and friends whether it was a holiday gathering, camping trip, or just sitting around talking or an exciting game of triple yahtzee. She always wanted to go to Australia and her favorite holiday was Christmas!
She loved animals and has cared for her many horses, dogs and cats over the course of her lifetime.
Loretta was preceded in death by her mother and father, Anna and John Barnes, big brother John Atwell Barnes and her first born daughter Starla Renee Litz.
Loretta leaves behind her husband Harold Litz, daughters - Gerry Fussell, Jenna Litz, Patricia with husband Glen Davis; Grandchildren - Tracy McGrath and Kevin Davis and Great Grandchild Arianna Coleman all of the Richland area.
Her family loves her dearly and there are no words to describe how much we will miss her, but miss her we will.
Visitation will be held at Einans Funeral Home in Richland on Wednesday March 24 from 4-8pm and Thursday March 25 from 8-9:30am. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland at 10:00am on Thursday.
