Richard Garner Nelson

Richard Garner Nelson, 80, of Kennewick, WA, passed away on Friday April 16, 2004 at Kennewick General Hospital.

He was born on September 1, 1923 in Everett, WA to parents Harold and Jessie Nelson.

Mr. Nelson lived in the Tri-Cities for 45 years and was a metallurgist for Battelle. He was WWII veteran serving in Army Air Corp from November 1942 to October 1945.

Richard was a member of West Highlands United Methodist Church and belonged to the American Society of Metals.

He is survived by his wife Mary Alice Nelson, son Neal and wife Sherri, their children; Aaron, Isabel, Rachel, daughter Nikki Ahrens and husband John, children; Kristina, Matt, daughter Gay Shambaugh and husband Michael, children; Jake and Katie. Sister-in-law Lorene Campbell, nephew Mark.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday April 18 at 6:30pm at The West Highlands United Methodist Church in Kennewick.
