Elizabeth Liz Jane Rainier of Kennewick died August 15, 2004 at the age of 78 at the Richland Life Care Center. Liz was born on August 4, 1926 in Reading, PA to Samuel and Elizabeth Geppert Merkel
During her early years, she spent her time in Phoenixville, PA and then moved to California and then to Washington. Liz enjoyed and was proud to talk about her dancing with the Holliday Girls and the Rockettes while in Phoenixville. After her stroke she enjoyed spending her time shopping for herself and for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Merkel and her husband William H. Rainier, Jr.
Liz is survived by her son Donald Bauman of Marseille, France, sister Jeanne Heckman of Venice, Florida, niece Donna Ostron of Venice, Florida, nephew James Heckman of Ocean City, Maryland, cousin Richard Miller of Olympia, Washington and a childhood friend Leona Feymoyer of New Milford, Connecticut.
Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens of Richland on August 18th, at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tri-City Cancer Center.
SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR PASSING YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED. WE HAD GOOD TIMES WHEN I USE TO CLEAN YOUR HOMES I REMEMBERED WHEN YOU HAD THAT NICE HOME IN KENNEWICK AND I WOULD COME AND CLEAN IT FOR YOU THEN YOU MOVED TO AN APARTMENT AND I CLEANED THAT FOR YOU THEN YOU MOVED AGAIN TO A DOUBLE WIDE TRAILER I ONLY CLEANED THAT ONE FOR A LITTLE WHILE THEN YOU GOT SOMEONE ELSE. WELL BE GOOD IN HEAVEN WHEN WE WILL ALL BE THEIR SOMEDAY BYE LIZ REST IN PEACE LOVE ANN

I have wonderful memories of living next to you for four years. We sat on the porch togather and enjoyed our toddy’s. I remember planting a tomato plant in a bucket for you, and we watched it grow.Then we laughed when you had me come over to slice it for you!I hope your dancing around in heaven.Love Shannon
