Hartzell Troy Dowdy

01/20/1974 — 08/16/2004

From Richland, WA, US | Born in Salem, Oregon

Hartzell Troy Dowdy

Troy was born on January 20, 1974, in Salem, Oregon and moved to the Tri-Cities when he was 15. He was taken from us on August 16, 2004, in a car accident.

The biggest joy of Troy’s short life was his family life. His children and wife meant the world to him, and it showed in all he did. He spent all of his time helping and doing for others, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone. He never met a stranger and always had a smile. Troy was a very hard worker and eager to learn. His hobbies were spending time with his kids, playing the guitar, and doing for others.

Troy will be deeply missed by his wife, Christina; son, Nicholas and daughter, Alisha; mother, Betty Dowdy; special nephew, DeShaun; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Glenda Boese; brother, Jon Sandy Wikum; sister, Theresa Bobby Alley; brothers-in-law, Shannon Jennifer Nichols and Jeremy Boese; sister-in-law, Amanda Boese; nieces and nephews include Kristen, Galin, Garrett, Josh, Cody, Shannon, Devin, Jacob, Kaela, and Alex.

Troy will be joining brother, Jimmy Wikum; father, Hartzell Dowdy; sister, Staci Dowdy; and grandmother, Verna Miller in heaven.

Join us for services at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2004. A celebration of Troy’s life will be held at Paul and Glenda’s home following the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations for Troy’s kids, Nick and Alisha may be made to Washington Mutual Bank account 0970700657.

  • Troy,

There is no one else that could ever touch a persons heart the way you do! You have that special way of making people feel like they are welcome and loved! I only met you 3 years ago, yet you shared so much with me and touched me in such a way that I will NEVER forget how warm and giving you are. I will miss you always,

  • We have known Troy and his family for almost our whole lives, so we have many unforgetable memories that will never be forgotten and will always be looked back upon with a huge smile. The first thing that comes to our minds when we think of him is his laugh, which always seemed to be contagious. As much as it seemed he was a brother to our father, he was deffinetly an uncle to us!! Tina, nick, and Alisha you will be in our prayers.

    We love you UNCLE TROY!!

    Love Always,

  • This seems still so unreal to me. It wasn’t that long ago that I saw you in Columbia park with your kids having such a great time. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I believe that he is where ever you are. He lives on in your words, he lives on in your heart. He is never too far away.

  • Troy you will be greatly missed. We met when you were 15 years old and you were always smiling and cracking jokes. You were great fun to be around and you were so awesome with all the kids in the apartment complex. I will always remember your smile, the way you walked and how glad you always seemed to be when we would run into each other out in public through the years. I still can’t believe you are gone. You are loved and will be missed more than words could ever express. We will meet again in the future..

    With Love,
