04/03/1949 — 10/31/2004
From Kennewick, WA, US | Born in Caldwell, Idaho
Michael G. Seamans
Michael G. Seamans passed away in West Richland on Sunday, October 31, 2004. Born on April 3, 1949, Michael worked hard from the time he was very young and was doing what he loved working on a construction site when he died. Michael was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.
Michael was born in Caldwell, Idaho and moved to Kennewick at the age of five. He went to school in Kennewick and graduated from Kennewick High. He then worked for several contractors including some on the Hanford reservation before starting his own concrete finishing company, which he owned and operated for almost 30 years. He worked with his father in housing construction before progressing into commercial and industrial construction. He has left his mark with work he has done all around the Tri-Cities, Eastern Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. At the time of his death he employed 20 highly valued individuals who were his second family and who shared his strong work ethic.
Michael lived his life always looking for new challenges and had a great sense of humor that made him loved among all who knew him. Michael loved traveling and made trips to Arizona many times over the last several years. He and his wife had lived there when first married for about a year and he loved to return to it. Being a history buff he liked to explore ghost towns and museums and go to areas he hadnt seen before. He also enjoyed spending time backpacking, canoeing, and built a cabin with his family near Lake Roosevelt. He loved spending time with his wife going on trips and drives and they worked together as a team building the business and raising their family.
Michael is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cheryl Seamans of Kennewick, WA; daughters Stephanie Seamans of Pendleton, OR, and Jennifer Seamans of Kennewick, WA; parents Hobert and Katherine Seamans and his sister Julie Mickey Fernandez and brother-in-law Paul Fernandez all of Kennewick, WA; and a large extended family.
Chapel services and burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6th at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, Washington. Michael can be visited for viewing from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5th. A gathering for friends and family will follow the service at the Moose Lodge on Van Giesen in West Richland. Einans funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Kadlec Foundation for Diabetes Learning Center, attn: Foundation, 888 Swift Blvd., Richland, WA 99352

Dear Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy during this very sad time in your lives. Mike and his crew did concrete work for us on a couple of occasions in the past. We will remember him always and the pride he took in his work. May it ease your heavy burden to know that others care. Sincerely, Bob & Connie Smith
I only met Mike 9 days before he died, but in that short time he showed me what must have been the way he lived his life. He was kind, gentle, generous, and very personable. My son Kyle, 7, will always remember the day that Mr. Seamans let him ride the power trowel around on the newly poured concrete slab in our basement. Mike was so kind to my children and, of course, to Jim and I. We are better people to have known him. Our prayers and deepest sympathies are with you during this tough time.
All our best wishes- Jim and Tina Paras
I had the pleasure of attending a Simon and Garfunkle concert with Mike, Cheryl, and my best friend Jenny. We went in celebration of Mike and Cheryl’s wedding anniversary and Jenny’s 26th birthday. Thanks for the great memories and the tour t-shirt!

I knew Mike for alot of years, he was like family to me. When our Daughter passed away he was there for us in a lot of ways, he was a very kind and loving man , And a very good friend. He will be missed and thought of everyday. Our thoughts will be with his Wife and daughters, and also HobiePOPS and kate. The Sokey Family Mike,Sheril,Dennis and Niecey.
Absolutely the nicest and hardest working man I ever had the privledge to work for. When very few would take a chance hiring an 18 year old kid, “Mr. Mike” did, and I was always greatful for the opportunity. I remember his great sense of humor the most, and how no one else could seem so excited to pour concrete at 3 a.m. My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.

I will always remember Mike and what a hard worker he was. I got the pleasure of waiting on him when I worked at Seco. He always had such a positive attitude even when we had a foot of snow on the ground and all concrete work was at a halt. He was honest, patient, and kind. The construction industry lost one of the best when they lost Mike. I am proud to say I knew him and respected everything he stood for. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

I had many occasions in years past, to work with Mike—he was always a joy to work with. Our prayers and condolences go out to all of you during this sudden loss & tragic time in your life.
Beautiful family picture posted, I’m sure you will treasure it & the memories it represents, for many years to come.
Cheryl and Family,
We want to recognize Mike for the outstanding, hard working soul he was. We constantly heard good things about his work ethic and while talking with him professionally or socially, we could tell he was of exceptional Idaho stock. We too, are from Idaho.
Our grandchildren were the children to find Mike, and we are so greatly sorry for your loss. You will all be in our prayers and please feel comfortable to call if you need anything.
May God bless your family in the loss of your loved one.
Love,
Leigh Ann-Pinkham Pond
