Barbara Wright Eakin
Barbara Eakin passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior November 10, 2004 her beloved husbands birthday after a courageous 14 year battle with cancer. She died at home in Richland, with her loving daughters caring for her.
Barbara was born August 19, 1928 in Yakima, Washington, to parents Theodore J. and Twyla L. Bobb Wright. She lived in Grandview, Washington, until 1948 where she graduated from Grandview High School. She married Jack L. Eakin, her high school sweetheart also from Grandview, on September 16th, 1949. Her parents and grandparents were also long time residents of Grandview. Barbara was employed in Records Management at Hanford, retiring from United Nuclear in 1987. She lived in Richland from 1959 until June 1990 when she and Jack moved to Hermiston, Oregon returning to the Tri-cities in 1998 where she lived until her death. She was an active deacon at West Side Church, a long-time member of PEO, and an avid bridge player.
Barbara is survived by and well be deeply missed by her daughters, Sally Larson and spouse, Patrick OLynch of Pasco WA., and Susan Zimmerman and her husband Wayne of Bainbridge Island, WA.; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Cathy Wright of Bellingham; granddaughter Michele Mayer and her husband Ronald of Silverdale, WA; and great-grandson Oliver Bromwell.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack L. Eakin, brother Theodore Wright III, and granddaughter Tiffany Zimmerman Bromwell.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at West Side Church in Richland, Washington.

I am a dental hygienist and Barbara has been my patient for the past several years. I have admired the way she dealt with her illness. I went through breast cancer treatment last year and she was an inspiration to me. She spoke often of her family,she loved you all very much.
