Breta Lena Strobel

EINAN'S FUNERAL HOME

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Breta Lena Strobel, 80, of Richland, Washington, who went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2005.

Breta was born the sixth of seven children on October 24, 1924, in Windom, Minnesota.

Breta grew up in Montana where she met and later married her husband, Oscar Strobel, on December 25, 1940. Shortly thereafter they started a family with the birth of their first child. In the mid-fifties, Oscar, Breta and their five sons moved to Oregon, and over the next several years celebrated the birth of their three daughters.

Breta was a member of World Life Christian Center in Richland. She lived a rich and fulfilled life in the Lord for more than 60 years. She will be remembered as a woman of God epitomizing the Christ-like qualities we as Christians should have and should all work toward to attain.

As the matriarch, Bretas love and devotion to her family was evident in her overwhelming dedication to all of us. When she spoke, she had a wonderful way of making you feel like at that moment you were the most important person in the world to her. Her words of encouragement, guidance and heartfelt concern made you think you were her best friend. No matter was too small or trivial for her to express her excitement and joy or to lift you up in prayer.

With great fondness and admiration for a true woman of God, we say goodbye to our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Her gentle spirit and love for all of us is forever imprinted on our hearts. Yet in the midst of our sorrow, we are comforted by Gods grace and the knowledge that we will someday see her again.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Breta include five sons, Bob, Rick, Merril, Greg and Tim; three daughters, Sharon, Karen and Kathleen; three sisters, Dorothy Peterson, Gladys Roberts and Nellie Aasen; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her best friend and devoted husband, Oscar Strobel; her brother, Raymond Hendrickson; and her two sisters, Claris Buckingham and Ruth Woods.

A funeral service will be held at City Church, 4624 West 10th Ave., Kennewick, Washington, on February 2, 2005 at 10:00 A.M.

Humbly submitted with Gods grace, The Family

  • Hi Sharon, Lee, Sarah, Bethany, & Jesse.

I’m soo sorry about your loss. I guess I better remind you of who I am. I, and my two kids, Kayla, & Korey, used to live across the street from you and Breta on Vancouver St.. Hard to believe that it was 8 yrs. ago this month when I moved from there to Richland. I’ve thought about all of you from time to time, “with curiosity, about the kids, and how they have grown up, just as mine have. I probably woudn’t recognize them now! :- As you would have a hard time believing that’s really “Kayla & Korey” if you saw them. I would love to see them again sometime. Well, enough about all that, that’s not what this site is for.

Breta was an Angel sent from God. She was not only my neighbor for several years, she was my friend. She kept me supplied with the Herbal Life, in hopes to find answers to my health problems. She new I didn’t have the finances to afford the product, but, as we all know, Breta had her caring and nurturing ways, wanted to help, and mangaged to find a way. Though her presence will be missed here, I’m sure you’re rejoicing in knowing the fact that Breta has re-united with her husband and best friend. And one day, we “all” will unite again in Heaven. 0:-

Sharon, I really wanted to attend the service this morning, but unfortunately, it was during an appointment time, in which I’ve been scheduled for radiation treatments for 7 weeks. I was diagnosed with cancer in October. Just know that my thoughts were with you at this disheartening time. If you feel lead, I’m listed in the phone book. Feel free to call me anytime, Take care, “All of You”, and God Bless!

    Sincerely,

    Debbie Pietz

  • While we are sad to hear of Breta’s passing, we are so blessed to have known her and to have been touched by her wonderful life and example. She was a great blessing and we have had the awesome privilge to worship with her once again at World Life Christian Fellowship.

Our thoughts and prayers go to all of you, and we rejoice with you knowing that one day we will see her again. And then we will be able to listen to her sing those wonderful praises to God.
