Wilfred J. Gilman ''John''

John Gilman, loving father and grandfather, died January 17, 2005, at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House.

John was born October 12, 1923, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was the third oldest in a family of 9. He married Theresa Tellier on December 2, 1943. They moved to Southern California in 1957. They remained married until her death in January of 1982.

He worked hard as a brick mason, building block walls and fences until his retirement in 1983. It was at that time he moved to Richland from Southern California.

John doted on his family. In addition, he loved spending time with his faithful companion, Nova, the family dog. He loved going to lunch with his friends Shirley, Bill and Louise. He treasured the cane his friend Dave made for him.

John is survived by a daughter, Pat Rueckert, 2 grandchildren, Cindy and Terry Rueckert, a sister, Mae Haskins, and a brother, Bill Gilman.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2005, at 10:00 AM at Einan's Funeral Home. Viewing is 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 22.

  • Pat, John, Terry, Cindy,

Although many, many miles separated us, always know that I thought of him often. He was a great brother, and I have lots of wonderful memories to see me through the dark days ahead. Everyone loved him for his fun loving ways. From his picture I see how much he looks like our mom. Now I know he can rest well with her and all our sisters and brothers that are already there. He loved our mom very much, and was a wonderful son. Now they can tell jokes to their hearts content, as he could always make anyone laugh. Please give him one red rose from me. I’m certain we will all be together soon. I’m very sorry I cannot make the trip to see him, but I will always have him in my heart.

Our deepest sympathy to all of you, and know that you are in my prayers. Love always, Aunt Mae & Mickey

  • Pat, Cindy, Terry, & John,

Tho the many miles will keep us from attending Uncle Shorty’s service, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. In his picture I see my Dad, also. There’s no mistake they are brothers. Together they are resting in peace with the many other family members. Please say a loving good-bye to Uncle Shorty for us, till we meet again.

    With deepest sympathy….

    Love Judy & Mark
