Evelyn M. Sprague Hobbs, 84, of Pasco, passed away June 26, 2005 at Avalon Care Center in Pasco. She was born July 23, 1920 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Loren and Mabell Sprague. She was orphaned at age 9 and spent her adolescent years in an orphanage in Minnesota. She lived in the Tri-Cities for 14 years and was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend.

She met the love of her life, Clifford W. Hobbs, and they were married March 3, 1941 in Hornick, Iowa. The early years of their marriage were spent in Santa Monica, California.

Mom was the glue that kept our family together as we traveled from coast to coast with Dad’s work in construction. Mom instilled in us her commitment to the importance of maintaining strong family ties, even when separated by distance.

Mom and Dad were married over 55 years and she has now joined him in heaven through her faith in Jesus Christ.

Evelyn is survived by sons Wesley R. Hobbs, Sr. of Grant, New Mexico and Stanley W. Hobbs of Trona, CA; daughter Glenna F. Lenz of Pasco, WA; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland. Viewing will be Tuesday the 28th from 5:00-8:00 PM at Einan’s Funeral Home, Richland.
