George Lewis Feaster

George was born in Ceries, Oklahoma September 21, 1911 to John Stewart Feaster and Mary Minerva Bird Feaster. When George was a baby his family moved to Astoria, Oregon and later to Greensfield, Idaho. They moved to Washington State, where George completed eight years of schooling in Toppenish. George later completed his GED at CBC in the Tri-Cities. George married Vera Lucille Yearout in 1929 and later divorced. To this union were born Bonnie Jo Feaster and Ron G. Feaster. George worked several jobs in the Yakima Valley, plus 14 years for the Golden Hop Farms in the Yakima Valley. He was particularly proud of being a welder in the construction of the 90-foot tower of the Tower Drive Inn in Union Gap. That location now is the site of the Union Gap shopping mall.

In 1952 he moved to Richland, where he worked for 22 years for the Richland School District in the Heating and Plumbing Maintenance Shop. In 1954 he married Della Marie Thayer. They both were avid outdoorsmen, enjoying fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and traveling in their RV. George was a member of the Masonic Order and was a 32° Mason.

George was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clarence B., Chester, Joseph Bud and William Arthur; and sisters Betty Jean and Marie Feaster Melton. He is survived by Bonnie Jo of Yakima, Ron of Richland and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
