John William Henry
John William Henry, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2005.
John was born in Canton, Illinois on November 11, 1921. He and his four younger siblings were raised in Burlington, Iowa. One day while working at the National Youth Association he met the love of his life, Alice Trainor. The love story began and they were married June 14, 1941. John served as a Corporal in the Army Air Corp in World War II. After the war he settled with his family in Richland in 1945, working at Hanford for 39 years until he retired. John helped to establish the Pasco Assembly of God church, which is now called Faith Assembly. Throughout his 42 years as a Member, Deacon and Usher of the church, John was a loyal and faithful servant of God.
John and his wife Alice celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past June. Theirs is a once in a lifetime love story that will continue for eternity in Heaven. His dedication to his family was unequaled. He was and will always be a true example of a child of God. He was our spiritual leader, a joyful giver to those in need, and the stable rock who was always there in times of need.
Although we will ache at his absence, his place in the family will never be empty. His sense of humor, wonderful stories, and faith in God made him a treasure to all of us. John was a great man of faith, a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, and will be with us forever.
He is survived by his wife, Alice and by his children Gary, Bill, Sharon, Dan, Bob and Jeanne. Johns extended family includes 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother, one grandson and three infant great-granddaughters.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Einans Funeral Home in Richland. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Faith Assembly Church, 1800 N. Road 72, Pasco, with reception to follow immediately. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland at 4:00 PM the same day.
We have many memories of a most loving couple. May the Lord bless you, Alice, and your family. John was a good man.

Dear Henry Family: I am so sorry I could not attend Brother Henry’s services. My daughter in Yakima had an emergency c-section so I was with her. I have so many great memories of your Brother Henry and your family. I want you to know that I’ve been thinking of all you and praying for you too.
