Special thanks to the nursing and physician staff of Kadlec Hospital and Doctors Yang, Bowers and Trotta for your exemplary and compassionate care of Doris in her last days.
During my chidhood when I was a young girl I saw my Aunts Doris and Maurice every holiday season. They always opened their home with love and kindness to our family. As a young woman and going through a difficult divorce, Aunt Doris would sit and talk to me, and she really listened and cared about what was happening in my life. That was my aunt. She was a kind and caring person. I know that she is in heaven with my Aunt Maurice and my grandmother, and my uncles.

Erin, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I was sharing with your mom and dad how when Doris first arrived – Cassie now 19 was Erin’s youngests age which put her at about 6.
Doris’s room had a full-size bed in a queen-size frame so there was room on each side of the bed frame. Cassie spent alot of time at my dad’s in those days so she was thrilled when Doris moved in to play with her. One day I came over to find that Doris was hiding in the slot between the bed and the frame from Cassie as they were playing hide and seek. She was 72. Can you believe it?
She finally said that it bothered her back but she really enjoyed playing with Cassie and there weren’t many hiding places.
We are so grateful for the time we got to have her. She had a beautiful service and plenty of family around these last weeks.
Its great having your mom and dad here. We’re asking lots of questions and I think they’re having some fun as well.
We will definitely miss her but you are right, I told my son Connor that she’s probably so busy reuniting with her family and being completely healthy again that it may take a while before she gets time to look down upon us.
Take care.
Aunt Doris,
Reid and I are truly saddened that you have left us but we know that you are with my mom, your mother and brothers in a better place with no suffering.
I will always remember you.
Love,
Deanie
Remembering my Aunt Doris –
My fondest memory of her is set in my grandmothers home on the west side of Detroit, Michigan. Here I spent many weekends visiting with Grandma and Aunt Doris building forts in the living room and dining room. Aunt Doris and Grandma were always so willing to play with me. But Aunt Doris was the one who put me to bed at night and scratched my back while telling me fairy tales that she made up as she went along. She was a wonderful story teller and a loving Aunt my entire life. I’ll miss her dearly.
Remebering her with much love,
Noreen Reni
the love you shared with me will be charished for ever
