I met Eleanor when I volunteered at the Richland Library to bring books to those who couldn’t make it to the library on their own. After a while, when I could no longer find a book that suited her, we decided to just continue the friendship and forget about the books. I genuinely enjoyed spending time with Eleanor. She was kind, caring, and always fun and interesting to talk to. We shared a lot of personal troubles as we discussed the foibles of humanity–and yet always ended up sharing a lot of hope for the world. Eleanor was a positive person. My life was certainly enriched by knowing her. Warm thoughts of her remain in my heart; the word “friend” is synonymous with “Eleanor.”
