Esther Cecil Zier Davis
Esther Cecil Zier Davis of Richland, Washington, passed on gracefully in the loving arms of her family on October 21, 2005.
Born in Bridger, Montana, to Fred and Mabel Zier, who immigrated to the United States from Russia in 1907. She spent most of her adolescent years in Yakima, WA, where she attended school. In 1944 Esther married Delbert A. Davis, and together they moved to Richland and raised their family of four children.
Esther was a sales person and managed the childrens department at the Bon Marche when it was still in Richland. In later years she continued customer service in numerous grocery stores.
She enjoyed activities such as fishing, camping and playing cards in the company of people she loved. Always putting others before herself, she made sure everyone was comfortable and well fed. Her family loved her fried chicken and traditional German dishes.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert A. Davis in 1993, her parents, Fred and Mabel Zier, three brothers, George, Henry and Dave Zier of Yakima, sisters, Betty Hauff of Yakima, Kathryn Rutz of Sunnyside, Amelia Weigel of Spokane and Lydia Kern of White Swan.
She is survived by daughters, Connie Davis of Oklahoma City, OK, Gerry Stuk and husband Leo of Richland, sons Phil Davis and Doug Davis, both of Richland, and one stepson, Delbert Dean Davis of Kent, WA; fourteen grandchildren, Brenda Kinzer, Greg Daniels, Billy Daniels, Tina Daniels, Josh Daniels, Tory Peterson, Tawny Osmundson, Jill Grnya, Darcia Davis, Ryan Davis, Doug Davis, Sandy Davis, Steve Davis and Joey Davis, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
She has one surviving sibling, Marion Burnett, who resides in Kennewick with her husband, Rick Burnett.
A woman of many talents, a phenomenal cook, an accomplished singer and musician, an incredible loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Esther Cecil Davis is loved and will be remembered by many as an amazing woman with a bottomless heart.
Funeral services will be held at Einans Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2005. Graveside services will follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park, Yakima.
Visitation will be at Einans from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday.

Though I only knew Esther Davis through the words of her daughter Connie Davis, I wish to express my sincere sympathy to her family and friends.
Through the words I heard, I am sure Esther Davis will be fondly and lovingly remembered.
