Carol Marie Clark

Carol M. Clark, 80, was born in Prosser, Washington in 1925, and lived in White Bluffs, Washington, only moving her senior year of high school in 1943 when the war effort required the sacrifice of her home to begin the Hanford Site. After leaving White Bluffs, Carol lived in Richland for the remainder of her life. Carol died peacefully on Thursday, November 10, in the loving presence of her family, after a 15 month battle with cancer.

Carol had worked at the Benton Franklin County Health Department as Registrar, retiring in 1986. Since that time, she has been involved with many activities, including membership in the Optimist Club, in which she shared many activities, fund raisers and friendships.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Benny Clark, and their four children Gary and Mary Clark grandchildren Benny, Andy/Sara, and Jill, Glen Clark grandchildren Jamin/Keri and Ketra, David and Tami Clark grandchildren Kyle and Cassie and Gail and Dale Splett grandchild Sarah. Carol is also survived by great grandchildren Zachary and Trenton Flieger, Rylie and Regan Clark, and Colton Clark. She is also survived by her beloved cat, K. C.

She is also survived by her only brother Jack R. Williams wife Marty and their extended family. She is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews too numerous to name.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dibby and A. J. Loftus and half sister Joy. Her funeral will be Wednesday, November 16 at 2:00 pm at Einan's Funeral Home, followed by graveside interment. Viewing will be on Tuesday November 15 from 4 - 8 p.m.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rado and all the staff at the Tri-City Cancer Center for their continuing support. Additionally, the family wishes to thank Hospice for their outstanding support in allowing Carol to remain in her home, cared for by her loving family until her death. Without their help the last steps in this journey would have been so much more difficult.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hospice, 2108 w. Entiat Ave. Kennewick, WA 99336 to allow that organization to continue their work.

God grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

    P.S.

My mother, Eldee, will be unable to attend the service as she is in Oklahoma at this time. I know she will be upset to have missed it.

  • To the Clark family: I used to work the drive-thru at Bank of America and I really enjoyed talking with Carol when she came by. Since I knew some of the other family members too, we usually had plenty to talk about! I have missed seeing her and I was so sorry to learn of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
