Anthony Daniel Swinney

Anthony Daniel Swinney, 63, of Richland, passed away December 2, 2005 in Kennewick, Washington. He was born June 15, 1942 in La Grande, Oregon and lived his last 34 years in the Tri-Cities area working as an Electronics Technician. He was involved in the LDS church and became an ordained LDS teacher and deacon in September of 1959.

He grew up in La Grande as well as in Arizona, graduating from La Grande High School in May of 1960. After college, he became involved in Oregon Forestry and the Oregon National Forest. He acquired many certificates for Electronics working for Gordon’s TV in Richland and at Sears. After retiring, Anthony went to work for At Home Electronics.

Anthony and Marian Ann Buren Swinney were lovingly married for 37 years. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and taught them to garden and preserve food, and to survive in the wilderness by camping and fishing. He could always be counted on to assist his fellow co-workers, family, friends and neighbors in time of need. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, reading science fiction books, and caring for his dog Shadow and cats Tara and Taz.

Mr. Swinney is survived by his wife, Marian A. Swinney; mother, JB Wilson; daughters Victoria A. Tatom and Marie F. Paine; son Daniel A. Swinney; grandchildren Anthony C. Zelich, Wyatt J. Paine, Kyra VM Paine, Katelyn Kenfield; great-grandchild Austin Zelich. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Slim Wilson; granddaughter Michelle Zelich; father Pascall O’Rouke Swinney.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 9, 2005 at Einan’s Funeral Home, Richland. A reception will follow at 4901 Chukar Drive in West Richland.
