From Benton, City, WA, US | Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma
Ivan Leslie Howard
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1
Ivan Leslie Howard, born on January 10, 1943 went to live eternally with God his father in heaven on January 26, 2006. While he will be missed by those of us who knew him here on earth, we all are gladdened by his presence before the Lord and will be reunited with him when we ourselves leave this earthen vessel. Ivans frequent quotation of the aforementioned scripture comforts us with his passing from our presence.
We are holding a remembrance open house from 1:00-5:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Desert Rose Terrace, 510 14th Street, Benton City. All are invited.
To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:25
Ivan was a Big Man with a Big Heart. I’ll aways think of him out there in his shop working on his Harley’s, riding his Motorcycle with Fayrene wrapped behind him. He always had a big laugh and a big smile. He was always there for his little brother Paul. When we took in my own nephew Glen He built him a bike and treated him like part of the family. I was watching a movie yesterday with a lawnmower race and remided me of when we were racing at the first Benton City Daze Lawnmover Race. He was Part of our team helping to get it going enough to win a trophy.
His family was very important to him. I don’t think he realized how many lives he touched. I will always love and miss him but he is with God now and in a much better place. He’s with Dad and his Mom and little brother and Lord willing we’ll see him again some day when God calls us home to him. My Thought and Prayer’s and Love are with the Family. May you all be comforted by God’s enduring Love. It is we who hurt now for Ivan he is free from the pain of this world. May God Bless you all and give you peace.
I will miss you sorely, until we meet agian on the other side, I did not realize what comfort I had just knowing you were there whenever I needed you or your advice, I hope I can be there for my family like you were for us.
I LOVE YOU,POP.BIG-B
Ivan was my big brother growing up. We lived next door to each other and he used to help me work in the big garden we had.
One Sunday my dad had picked a bucket of red peppers and sat them on the porch. Ivan and I had a pepper throwing fight. My dad noticed the missing peppers and asked me what I had done with them. I said we had eaten them. He said oh really, well come over here and eat another one. As soon as I bit into it my mouth was on fire and I started screaming. Ivan felt bad for me so he took a bite of one too. He was too old to scream, so he just raced home. I have never forgotten his willingness to share in my punishment. That was just the kind of guy he was. I will miss him until I see him again where there are no red peppers. My thoughts and prayers are with you Fayrene, Butch, and Cindy and family. Love, Bill
Ivan was my wonderful brother. He had compassion, he was caring and he thought everyone was equal. He had friends from the lowlyest of life to the very wealthy and he treated them equally. He was a tease and a tormentor, but a lot of fun. Ivan knew how to have fun. He & I shared a love that was very special. I always knew that he loved me, because he made it clear that he did. I shall miss my brother very much, but I know that he is in better hands, and that gives me comfort.

thank you
Ivan was a dear and a nice man that i knew that lived in benton city and was very kind.
my condolences to his family
We’re sorry for your loss, but we are glad he’s finally at peace. He holds a special place in our hearts and his generous spirit will always be appreciated. When I was young, he was always willing to help me when I asked, whether it was lending his skills or giving advice, and when I married, he gave a young man a bit of cash to take his bride on a honeymoon. The small things often mean the most. Good bye Uncle.
I am sorry for your going to a better place to soon but am sure happy for Ivan for the the place he is going HEAVEN. The hurt is gone and the JOY is with you Brother.
You will be missed a lot, and your life was full of stories in a story. Let Abraham hold you in his bosum, now and just rest, you deserve the rest. And we see you there.
God Bless,
Frank Shaw
