Sandra Mae Ellingsworth

Sandra Mae Ellingsworth went home to her Lord and Savior in the glory of the setting sun the evening of February 07, 2006. Our beloved was given to us September 27, 1940 in the small town of Galena, Kansas. Her cherished mother, Effie Pauline Carper deceased, settled the family in the Tri-Cities when Sandra was a young girl, just six years of age. She and siblings, older sister Vivian ''Trudy'' deceased, brother, Jim and younger sister Glenda, lived laughed and loved their way together through difficult times and as adults established families of their own. They remained close in heart and supportive of each other no matter the distance they traveled. Sandra married John ''Wayne'' Ellingsworth and brought forth five daughters. Although she and Wayne later chose separate paths, through life they remained friends. In later years Sandra added to her family through the love of her husband of heart Ronald M. Strait. She was able to count Ronald George Sr., Sandra Lee, Raymond Jay, Arleen Dee and Darleen Dee deceased among her children. Sandra became a strong leader for the American Heart Fund after she valiantly survived open heart surgery at just 22 years of age. For many years she enjoyed playing bingo with her mother at the Moose Lodge, excelled with her sister Trudy on the ladies Sage-n-Sun Pool League, knocked down more than a few bowling pins with her sister-in-law and life long friend, Norma Ellingsworth, danced more than one night away at the Starlite Lounge and was a proud member of the Eagles Auxiliary #2489. She made many friends and many more memories during her life and will be missed greatly by all. Of all the joys in her life Sandra was especially proud of her family and treasured each and every one. She would proudly proclaim ''I have 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren!'' and then happily tell you all the current events unfolding in each of their lives.
