Ronald Gene ”Webster” Robbins, Sr.
Ronald Robbins was born May 18, 1951 in Long Beach, CA to Ross and Darlene Robbins. He grew up in southern California. After graduating from high school he joined the Navy in 1969, serving until 1974 after one tour of Vietnam. From 1975 to 1985 he served in the Army National Guard, then joined the Army Reserves in 1986. He was a member of the 2nd Brigade unit, retiring from the Army Reserves in 1994 as a Major. Ron was employed by Fluor Hanford for over 25 years, the last 5 years as a Nuclear Chemical Operator at the K Basins.
In Oct. 1973 he married Valerie Blake, and they had four wonderful children together. After their divorce in 1999 he married Becca Roberts on May 20, 2000.
He is survived by his wife Becca, his mother Darlene Lyndsey Broadbent of Silverdale, WA., his father Ross Virginia Robbins of Pine Bluff, AR., his sister Alicia Will Smith of Springfield, MO, his children, Gena Robbins of Rocklin, CA., Ronald Jr. Terrisa of Silverdale, WA, Jason Robbins of Jacksonville, FL, Mike Robbins of Las Vegas, Nevada, his step kids Carol Roberts of Spokane, WA, and Joe Roberts Kari of Hampton, VA, six grandkids Carlos, Angel, Kyle, and Erik of Rocklin, CA., Ronald G. III and Nicolas of Silverdale, WA, brothers-in-law Ed DeVall of Oceanside, CA, George DeVall of Grandview, WA, his sister-in-law Wanda Jerry Cole of Shwanee, KA, his mother-in-law Valma DeVall of Kennewick, WA, many nephews and nieces and his special foster aunt Ruth Sabota, of Wenatchee, WA.
Ron's family and friends were the joy of his life. He enjoyed riding his Harley on trips across country and to visit family and friends with his wife. He was also a member of the Iron Lords motorcycle club and enjoyed the riding and the camaraderie with is brothers. He will be greatly missed by all for his love, his quick wit, and his fatherly advice he would give when asked.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Diabetic Research fund or the Breast Cancer Research fund.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Einans Funeral Home, Richland.
Ron Ride free brother. We will miss you.
Ron was my friend and co-worker. He will be missed and remembered. I will always remember his response to many questions asked of him – “as far as you know” – it was always worth a laugh!
Our hearts go out to you Becky and to all the kids. I cna’t imagine what an empty feeling you must have. Know that he loved you wiht all his heart.
