Jess Corman Huesties was born on Sept. 17, 1917 in Mapleton, KS to Merle & George Huesties.  He was called home to be with Jesus and 2 of his sons, Dennis and Leonard, on December 21, 2006 in Richland, WA.

Jess moved to Yakima, WA in the late 1930’s where he ran a service station for 3 years.  It was at this time that he met his future bride, E. Irene Bliss.  They were married on October 27, 1941.

He enlisted in the United States Navy on Aug. 9, 1941 and served in the Submarine Unit at Pearl Harbor as a Shipfitter First Class.  He was honorably discharged in March 1946.  He was a Lifetime member of the VFW and DAV.

They lived in Kennewick for awhile and owned a doughnut shop which they had to close due to sugar rationing.  When Jess got a job at Hanford, they moved to Richland where they raised 6 children and several “adopted” children.  He retired after more than 30 years at 100K Area.

Jess is survived by the love of his life of 65 years, Irene of Richland; sister, Juanita Swanson; daughters, Barbara Huesties of Seattle, Darlene Bern of Kennewick, Merle Dave Zahniser of Gold Bar, WA; sons, Jess Isun of Centralia and Rex Alvina of Pendleton, OR; daughters-in-law, Becky Dennis of Ariel, WA and Debbie Leonard of Finley, WA; grandchildren, Angela Matt, Michael, Lori Kevin, Keri, Nick Nichole, Michelle Randall, Nikkie, Jeffery, Carolyn Andrew, Sean Tiffany, Melanie Ammon, Andrew, BJ, Althea, Ester, and Raymond; nephews, John, Jerry and Gary; nieces, Norma, Nancy, Gail, Dorothy, Linda and Sandi; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Jake, Jordan, Brandon, Sierra, Zach, Tyler, Deblen, Kyla, Kennedy, Kenya, Adain, Caleb, Isaiah, Ezra, Joshua and Adeline; and the many other young people that he and Irene opened their hearts and home to through the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lula Jenkins; brother, Hank; sons, Dennis and Leonard; baby granddaughter, Cheri Lynn; and nephew, Richard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jadwin Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Richland.

Viewing will be at Einan’s Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26.
