From Spokane, WA, US | Born in Effingham, Illinois
Betty Louise Burns
Our beloved Mother passed away, June 6, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Effingham, IL , June 24 1922.
At age 16 she met and married Nelson Burns, and together they had nine children. Mom worked hard all of her life in a variety of jobs until she was 77 years old. She suffered immense personal and physical hardships in her life, and she was a two time cancer survivor. She never complained. She was humble, kind and forgiving. Mom thrived when surrounded by her family. Her laughter came easy and often. Though often not well, she was cheerful and family and friends were always welcome in her home. To know her was to love her and anyone that met her did. Her heart went out to children, animals and the down trodden. She was their friend and their comfort. She took care of many people in her life with wisdom and tenderness. For us, her family, she was our teacher, our safety, our soft place to fall, our joy. She is so deeply missed and we are all better people because of her.
Betty was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad; three sisters and two bothers; husband, Nelson T.N. Burns; and Lenora Killian, her dearest friend.
She is survived by a brother, Bud Finfrock; her friend of 49 years Ray Killian; her nine children and their spouses: Aaron and Gena Burns, Janice Lovell, Dorothy Spiwak, Doug Burns, Renee and Arly Hoglen, Nelson and Christie Burns, Ben and Karen Burns, Rebecca Burns, Michael and Jatuporn Burns; her grandchildren: Ganin, Alison, Ruby, Venessa, Holland ,Sara Russell, Ryan, Aaron, Hannah, Kyle, Shelley, David, Aaron, Jason, Brock, Dylan, Kelly, Matt, Jacque, Eric, Nathan, Bonnie, Ginger, Annabelle and Boon; and twelve great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside memorial at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 12:00 noon, Sat. June 16th. Immediately following will be a reception at the Shilo Inn, in Richland. A viewing will be held Friday, June 15, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Einans Funeral Home. Flowers can be sent to Einans at 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, WA 99352 509 943-1114.

I love and miss you so much…You were the backbone of this family, but I know that we will stay together as the loving family that we are! I love you, Grandma, and think of you often. Keep the couch warm for me up there. See you later

Thank you for sharing the beautiful memorial with us. I remember visiting Betty and Nelson and the cousins many times when we were kids in Kennewick. I was very sorry to hear of your loss — best wishes to all of you.
Ben Burns and family ~ you’re in our thoughts at this time in your life. Remember and cherish the great memories you have of your mom! Stay together as a family.
Love to all.
Momma,
