Larry LeRoy Reed

Larry LeRoy Reed was born January 13, 1945 in Mapleton, IA to Clifford and Lillian Miller Reed.

Larry was baptized in 1948 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. He graduated from Maple Valley High School in 1963.

Larry worked on the railroad and later was a construction worker in many different jobs including nuclear waste cleanup. He retired after being injured on a job. He loved dancing at the Eagles Club, and he loved fishing and hunting all his life, especially when he could do it with his boys. He knew no strangers. He loved family and friends. He had a heart as big as he was.

Larry is survived by his special friend Anne; sons John of Lincoln, NE and Scott and Becky of Marysville, WA; brothers Kenneth and Bev of Kingsey, IA and Russ and Karla of Mapleton, IA; sisters Evelyn and Vernon Thies of Mapleton, IA, Florine Dean on Danbury, IA, Laurie and Scott Peterson of Battle Creek, IA; granddaughters Taylor and Kennedy Reed of Marysville, WA; as well as aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28 at Victory Christian Center, where he was a member. Burial will take place Saturday, September 1st at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, IA.
