Alice Jeanette Olson

Alice Jeanette Fix Olson, 69, of Pasco, W A, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2007, with her family by her side.

Alice was born to Christian and Gertrude Fix on July 20, 1938, in Yakima, WA.

Her childhood was spent in Yakima where she attended St. Josephs Academy and later married Donald Jabus Olson in 1956.

Alice loved babies! Her life-long career as a mother and homemaker was definitely her passion as she raised her nine children. Most would not realize that it was actually mom who taught us how to play ball. She was the backbone of the family who stood silently cheering in the background as she watched her family shine.

Alice is survived by her children: Kerri John Manterola, Kathi Karl Eppich, Kelli Rayn Smith, Kim Lee Pregler, Kandi Ray van Heel, Kristi Michael Wylie, Donald Olson, Daniel Samantha Olson, and Kori Jason Warrenfeltz; grandchildren: Tia Dustin, Allison Nate, Kyle Natalie, John Jr., Heidi Matthew, Keldon Melanie, Megan Mike, Cody Jodie, Kacie, Cole, Laurin, Nicole, Tim, Jonathan, Jeremy, Christopher, Nathan, Misha, Mykael, Elijah, Joshua, Caleb, Hayden and Sydney; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Alex, Taylor, Dallas, Kylie, Lydia, and Olivia; sisters and brothers: Chris Chuck Mix, Christian Debbie Fix, Daniel Helen Fix, Lousie Mike Morris, David Arlene Fix and Rick Tammy Fix;

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents, Chris and Gertrude Fix, her sister, Beverly, and her brother, Randy.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, By-Pass Highway, Richland, WA.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Joy, 1153 Gage Blvd. Richland, WA.

  • I would like to Thank all of moms family and friends on behalf of myself and all of my siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I am so very proud to be an Olson. Mom was so brave and strong to of been able to overcome the unbearable pain and agony that was literally taking over her body. I miss her so much and yet I am grateful that she is no longer having to endure any more excruiating pain. I do believe that Dad was waiting for her and they are back together in a better place and watching over all of their family. Mom you will always be in my heart and believe me when I say “You did a great job raising us in a home that was close in so many ways. I bring that value into my own family and because of that we Love You. I wish you had a phone to access, I really miss our ritual Monday morning chats just to say Good Morning and I Love You. Give Dad a hug for me and my family. I believe that we will meet again.

Thanks once again for all of your support in this lonely time in our lives and God Bless.

  • My sister Alice was everything a sister should be to me.While we were both raising families there was not much time to spend together but The last 2 years we were able to spend a lot of time together antique shopping, having lunch, gambling and just talking. It was wonderful to have the time to get to know her. I will miss her more than I can put into words but I know I will see her again because we promised each other that we would.

To all her children I want to say you were her joy. Her life was all about you.She never asked for much for herself but always wanted everything for all of you.She truly deserved the name Mother

    Love to you all

  • We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful lady with such a kind and gentle heart. She always had a smile and an encouraging word for anyone she talked with. My parents, Connie & Felix Anderson, also send their condolences. They are currently out of town and sorry they are not able to be here for you. Please let any of us know if there is anything we can do. What a wonderful woman who will be missed by all! All of Love, Buster, Brenda, Nichelle & Kristin Barott, Connie & Felix Anderson.

  • Alice was a very loving woman. I remember she wouldn’t let her children eat raw cookie dough. She was there to open her house to me and my siblings when my father passed away in our home, while my mom made preparations for him to be picked up. Eventhough I hadn’t seen Alice in sometime, she will be missed by all.

  • To My Olson Family:

I’m sitting here updating my Christmas card list and I’ve come to Aunt Alice’s name. What do I do? I can’t remove her name, that would be like removing her from my memories and that is just not acceptable.

I will leave her name on my list so that I will be reminded, especially at this time of the year, that I had a wonderful woman in my life named “Aunt Alice”.

May you each have a peaceful Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

    Love,

    Kathy

  • I went to school with Alice, gradeschool and high school, I think. I remember her as very blond, kind of quiet, hard working, and definitely nice to be around. God bless all you, her brothers and sister, and children and grandchildren. What a wonderful life accomplishment. May God fill your days with His loving Providence.
