Glenna Caroline Shirk

Glenna passed away on November 8 in Lake Stevens, Washington. She retired as a nuclear lab technician at the Hanford Lab, Richland WA. She worked there for a succession of companies DuPont, G.E. and Arco from 1944 until 1972.

She was born in Lafayette, Colo., April 13, 1911 and lived in Denver. She was employed by DuPont, Remington Arms, before coming to Richland. She moved to Pasco in 1979; was a member of Pasco Presbyterian Church and Pasco Seniors Center: was past member and vice-president of the Richland Business & Professional Women's Club.

Preceding her in death were husbands Karl V. Simpson and Wilber G. ''Bud'' Shirk. She is survived by her daughter, Dora Lee Talbot husband, Jack Lake Stevens, WA; grandsons Jim wife Susan Lake Forest Park WA, David wife Mary Kay Woodinville, WA, Bill wife Debbie Coral Springs, FL; great grandchildren: Trevor, Jason, Melissa of Coral Springs, FL and Elisa and Caitlyn of Lake Forest Park WA; sister, Marjorie Collins, Orland, CA; brother Eugene Oliphant, Holdenville, OK.

She moved to Woodinville, WA in 1998 and then to Lake Stevens in 2002 to be near her family in the area. She was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother and we will all miss her.

Graveside Service and interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland, WA, Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 2:00 pm.
