Walter D. Faubion

Walter D. Faubion, Jr. passed away July 11, 2008, at the age of 85. Walt was active in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. During WWII he served in the South Pacific as a flight engineer and navigator and was awarded the Air Medal "for meritorious achievement."

After earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas he went to work for General Electric, later switching careers to become a Financial Advisor.

He enjoyed photography and family gatherings.

In 1980 he joined AA and remained very active, helping others to remain sober as he had for 27½ years.

He is survived by his brother, Urban Faubion; his children, David Faubion of W. Richland, Ben Faubion of Ellensburg, Bronwyn Berna of Walla Walla, Bryan Faubion of Kirkland, and Guy Faubion of Mukilteo. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Central United Protestant Church, Richland, WA on August 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM.

  • I’M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS OF YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY MEMBER. MY MOM LIVES AT BROOKDALE AND I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO CHATTING WITH WALT WHILE HE WAS OUTSIDE SMOKING HIS STOGIE. MY OWN FATHER PASSED 4 YRS AGO AND I FELT A REAL KINSHIP TO WALT. HE WAS SUCH A KIND, GENTLE MAN. HEAVEN WILL BE BLESSED BY HIS WONDERFUL SPIRIT.
