Donna June Norwood Gleason 2/13/1945 to 3/14/2009
Our mom was a woman who loved life and all it had to offer. She wanted to be sure she never missed out on any opportunity to bring joy into her life and those around her. For the last half of her life she fought a long battle with MS. But as always, she did so with laughter and a song in her heart. She continued singing until God brought her home on March 14, 2009. Mom passed on at home, in her own bed, while surrounded by family and friends. We are grateful knowing she is at home in heaven dancing and singing with no pain and no tears.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Cindy Cole Gruver & David; sons Michael Brant & Melissa and Jason Unck; her grandchildren Olivia & Grant Gruver; as well as the rest of her family: Tom & Sharon Cole; Melinda & Lynna; Rich Rice; Natalie, Claudette and Richie; and of course, her lifelong best friend &"Sister" JoAnn Dresser Nai-che.
Donna attended Columbia high school in Richland, WA followed by two years of Business School. She later entered the hotel and restaurant industry as a bookkeeper and concluded her career as a restaurant manager.
A Memorial celebration will be held Thursday, March 19th at 11:00am at Memories at Sunset Event Center on the beautiful grounds of Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Richland, WA.
Dear Norwood & Gleason Families:
