ROSE MARIE GARCIA

Rose Marie Garcia 83 passed away at Peace of Mind in Richland, WA on May 27, 2009. She was born to Martha and Lawrence McCunniff on October 6, 1925 in Waterloo, IA.

Rose graduated with honors from St. Mary's Catholic School at age 16. She came to Washington State in 1942, where she married and raised her family in Richland. She excelled as an executive secretary for General Electric and Battelle Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. She was a member of the National Secretaries Association and was devoted to her career and performed with excellence.

After retiring from Battelle in 1995, Rose continued to support the community by volunteering her secretarial services to the Richland Police Department and Food Bank. She enjoyed her animals, ceramics and helping others. She was a very giving individual and will be very much missed. Her infectious smile, laugh and wit will remain in our hearts always. May she dwell in the House of the Lord forever. Until we meet again, Mom, we love you.

Rose is survived by her son, Ricardo Garcia; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Mark Buchanan; granddaughter, Amber Buchanan; and extended family, Jerry, Jordan, Joshua and Hope Massey.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister Mary Jane Hunter.
