Imogene Marie Palmer

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was delivered into the arms of her Savior at 1:00 P.M. June 18, 2009; surrounded by her husband and family she passed at home. Imogene was born November 17, 1928 to Herbert and Winifred Young Best.

Preceding her in death are her parents and granddaughter, Valorie.

Imogene is survived by her husband Roy L. Palmer and six children: Sandra Tom Maloy of Galesburg, IL; Mark Christi Naugle of Richland, WA; Philip Shari Naugle of Abingdon, IL; Lisa Victor Melling of West Richland, WA; Jeff Naugle of Richland, WA; Daniel Naugle of Richland, WA, and one step-daughter Patti Palmer Salerno of Grand Prairie, TX. Thirteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three others on the way also survive her, including two sisters Faye Ralph Wenstrom of Galesburg, IL, and Barbara Bennet of Anaheim, California. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

She will be missed as a wife, mother, teacher and friend.

She was a homemaker having worked at many tasks in her lifetime, whether picking strawberries, gardening, running fish lines, butchering chickens, or caring for children either her own or her nieces and nephews. She moved from Illinois to Washington and eventually retired as a nuclear operator from Westinghouse Hanford Company. She was very devoted to her church Center of Christian Ministries and her church family.

Services are to be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Internment will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Einan's Funeral Home, 915 By-Pass Highway in Richland, WA.

The family of Imogene Palmer would like to thank Hospice at the Chaplaincy and Tiffany and G. from Adventist Health. Gifts and donations in memory of Imogene may be made to the Hospice at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy 2108 W. Entiat Ave., Kennewick, WA, 99336.
